What would be good environmental practices for celebrating Easter?

Seems like people could shred colored paper in a paper shredder & make their own grass for Easter baskets instead of buying plastic grass, then recycle the paper. I’ve done it for packing gifts for wrapping & shipping. (Besides, I think we used the same baskets & grass for 10 yrs when I was a kid.) What else could be done?

How about if you do buy plastic Easter eggs, you keep ‘em, use them again and again year after year instead of disposing them. They are washable. I like the paper shredding idea.

Received a wedding gift 2 1/2 years later, what do you say in the thank you?

My husband and I just received a belated wedding gift 2 1/2 years later from some close family friends. They apologized up and down for the lateness, but now I don’t know how to begin to write a thank you to them. Do I even respond to their apologies or just ignore and write a generic thank you? We are very gracious and it’s the thought that counts….we’re just in an awkward position now and don’t know how to begin the thank you note. Any words of advice?

I would ignore the lateness even though they mention it! I’d just respond with a thank you that you would have sent had it been on time. They know you know it’s late, and they brought it up, so look past it and thank them as if it’s on time!

What is the best,inexpensive,quick way to convert 35 mm.slides into CD’s?

I have boxes of those round caruosels full of photos of my family growing up and would like to make gifts to them as cd’s. I bought something that said it would, but you load one at a time and that will take forever….Can you help?

You should buy or borrow a inexpensive scanner with a 35mm slide adapter. I have a HP scanjet 3970 and it scans slides very well.

You would scan the slides to JPEG files and then you could make the slideshow from the JPEG files.

Would this be a cute idea for an announcement favor?

I work in a big dealership and thought it would be a cute idea to make a small little announcement favor to let everyone know what the sex of our baby is. We find out in 2 weeks.

That sounds really neat. I also like the idea of taking the ultrasound picture and using it on the front of the announcement. You can mae copies very easily at Kinko and I have seen the ultrasound of a 3D baby and they used it as the front of the announcement card. They even photo shopped a little bow on the baby’s head, it was so cute, everyone loved it
