My son is 8 and my daughter is 6. The toys I got them last year were not played with. My son has a Nintendo DSi already, so they play with that every now and then. She enjoys drawing and all things girly, play makeup and jewelry. My son also enjoys football and art. I know the basic art supllies, movies, and jewelry and makeup, but can you give me some ideas that maybe I’m not thinking of? I don’t know if it’s a blessing or not when your kids ask for NO TOYS for Christmas! : ) Thanks!

Here it is:

We Were Something More

We all lay on the grass.
Our four heads touching.
The chilled air froze our noses,
and gnawed on our fingers,
until all feeling had vanished.
Nature treated us to a symphony,
the wind sang and crickets strummed a tune.
”Isn’t this amazing?” Jeffrey asked.
Yes, it was breathtaking.
Yet, the question lingered in the air.
What was so amazing?
The sight was simplistic;
four friends lying in a field
in the formation of a wagon wheel spoke.
We stared at the celestial scene,
a splattering of stars on a midnight blue canvas.
The silver moon Goddess in the sky
smiled upon us.
She presented us all gift-
shooting stars on which to make wishes.
We were just four kids in the field.
